Knit or Not
Women's Group: Knitting Together Friendship & Mission
If you drive by MainStreet every other Wednesday night you’ll see a warm glow coming through the window. “Each week, friendships are knit together without anyone unravelling,” quips Jill, the organizer of Knit or Not. “Chatter, discussion, sharing, learning begins when they approach the circle of chairs by the warm fireplace. Some knit. Some crochet. Some embroider. And some never pick up a stitch, but drink from a warm cup and enjoy the company.
Knit or Not is a break in the day, surrounded by accepting, welcoming friends Usually 9-10 surround the fireplace. The group is centered around friendship and mission -- quite fitting for a Covenant church whose early founders called themselves Mission Friends. The group is open to any projects that may be of interest to someone. The group is always looking for missionaries and organizations who can benefit from their handiwork. Yet, the most beautiful thing being knit together are the lives of the friends who come and participate. So, grab a warm cup and join the circle!
