I'm New

Jeremy Berg i (s the founding pastor of MainStreet in Mound, MN, where he was born and raised. He earned a Masters degree from Bethel Seminary (2005) and B.A. from Bethel University (2002). Jeremy is currently a doctoral candidate with Dr. Scot McKnight at Northern Seminary in Lombard, IL, where he is studying New Testament Context. He and his wife, Keri, have three children (Peter, Isaak and Abby) and make their home in Minnestrista, MN.

Prior MainStreet, Jeremy was high school pastor at Faith Covenant Church in Burnsville, MN (2007-2010). Before that he used his influence as a teacher, coach, driving instructor, and youth pastor in Mound to launch Revolution Ministry (2005-07), a grassroots youth movement engaging teens with the message of the Jesus. The Revolution sparked a fire, made local headlines and brought young people together from several area churches for music-focused outreach and worship events. This season of ministry in Mound planted the seeds that later grew into the vision of MainStreet. Read a fuller account here.

Jeremy's writing ministry is found at his Daily Illumination blog, a rich resource for daily devotions, Bible Studies, commentary on Christianity & culture, youth ministry, leadership, and more. Jeremy's passion is discovering the endless ways God's truth penetrates our every day lives as he offers "Reports from the intersection of faith and everyday life."

Jeremy loves engaging a broad spectrum of teachers and viewpoints while remaining firmly rooted in a biblically grounded, Jesus-shaped, evangelistic Christianity. Jeremy's key influences include Tim Keller, N.T. Wright, Billy Graham, Greg Boyd, Will Willimon, Eugene Peterson, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Scot McKnight, and C.S. Lewis. Jeremy's personal faith has been deeply shaped by the teaching of Pastor David Johnson of Church of the Open Door where he attended for many years.

In his free time Jeremy enjoys sparkling beverages, playing guitar, golfing, blogging, old book stores, pulling his boys around the yard on the tractor, and Saturday walks to the record store with Keri.
